Use another transform tool

Weld transforms data with the Weld Transform Engine unless you choose another tool. Whatever you choose, Weld keeps syncing your data into the warehouse and sending it on with reverse ETL.

Choose your tool

Open Settings → Transform.

1. Weld Transform Engine: build models in Weld's SQL editor. This is the default.
2. GitHub: keep your Weld models in a GitHub repository and sync them into Weld. See GitHub sync.
3. dbt (managed): run your dbt Cloud jobs, triggered by Weld when your syncs finish. See dbt Cloud.
4. dbt Core (self-hosted): run dbt yourself on the same warehouse. Weld doesn't trigger dbt Core runs. See dbt Core.
5. Other / directly in my warehouse: transform with SQL in your warehouse or in a BI tool such as Power BI or Looker Studio. To run Cube or SQLMesh jobs after your syncs, add them to an orchestration as webhook steps.

Click Select on a row and confirm. Choosing dbt, dbt Core or Other switches off Weld Transform, and it disappears from the sidebar. You can select the Weld Transform Engine again at any time.
