Quickstart Guide
Overview
Follow this guide to get started with Weld in no time! The Quickstart Guide will walk you through the process of setting up your account, adding a source, creating a model, exporting data, scheduling, and more. By the end of this guide, you will have a solid understanding of how Weld works and how you can leverage it to extract insights from your data sources.

Step 1: Sign Up
To get started with Weld, sign up for an account on our website.
Step 2: Destination
During the sign up process, you will be prompted to select a destination to where you want to sync your data. You can choose from a variety of destinations, including Weld Managed BigQuery.
Step 3: Connections
After selecting a destination, you will be prompted to select the connectors that you want to use with Weld. You can choose as many as you want, and you will be able to add or remove any of them later on in your workspace.
Step 4: Add Source
You will now be in your workspace, where you can add a source. Click on the connector you want to use from the list or click on + New in the top right to get started. Follow the setup instructions to the right to add your source.
- Step 4.1 (optional): Add more Sources
You can add as many sources as you want to your workspace. Simply click on + Set up new data source after adding your first source to add another one.
Step 5: Create Model
Once you have added your source(s), you can create a model to transform your data. Click on Transform in the left-side menu to get started. Add new folders and new models by clicking on the + icons or on Create a SQL Model.
Remember to Publish your model!
- Step 5.1 (optional): Use our Templates
You can use our SQL Templates to create models quickly and easily. If your Data Source has templates available, you will be able to find them by navigating to Data Sources, clicking on the Data Source you want to use, and then scrolling down to the Templates section.
Step 6: AI Assistant
You can use our AI Assistant, Ed, at any moment to help you create a model or answer any questions. Simply click on AI Assistant on the left-side menu or in the icon underneath your query editor in the Transform section.
Step 7: Activate
After creating and saving your model, you can sync your data to your destination. Click on Reverse ETL in the left-side menu to get started. Select the destination you want to send your data to or add a new one and follow the instructions to set up your sync.
Step 8: Account Settings
On the left-side menu, you can access your account Settings. Here you can find an overview of your Connections, add/remove Users, manage your Billing, see usage data for your Data Warehouse, and set up Notifications.
