Hello! 👋
Welcome to the August edition of the Weld Recap, a compact guide to our latest product updates, resource highlights, and what’s next on the horizon. Let’s dive in.
Product updates, improvements & fixes from the past month
Transform tool decision
New users now get to choose whether to use Weld Transform, dbt, or another tool when setting up transformations. If Weld Transform isn’t selected, it gracefully steps out of view. You can always revisit your choice later through Account Settings.

Chunked syncs
To keep syncs smooth and avoid timeouts or memory hiccups, we’ve added better visibility and explanation for chunked sync logic, splitting large syncs into manageable bite‑sized chunks.

Run Sync Now from within Weld Transform
Need your data now? You can now trigger an on-demand table sync directly from the Weld Transform interface, no extra context switching required.

Ed leveled up
Performed a little behind‑the‑scenes magic: with GPT‑5 under the hood, Ed delivers more reliable SQL generations, sharper insights, and smoother workflows. Ed’s better than ever, no cape required.
Upcoming event: Big Data London

We’re heading to Big Data London this September and we’ll be at booth B23. Planning to attend? Swing by to say hi, get a live demo, or chat about all things data. We'd love to meet in person and hear what you're working on.
📈 New blog posts & resources

📊 Amazon Dashboards vs Data Warehouse: closing the gap
Amazon’s dashboards and your Data Warehouse tell the same story, but with different rules. Learn why they diverge and how Weld can help you harmonise them for accurate KPIs.
🌊 What is a data lake?
Data lakes are a flexible and low-cost solution for storing all your data, no matter the type - find out if when and why they make sense!
🛋️ Until next time
That’s all for August! Thanks for following along, and as always, if you have ideas, questions, or want to see something in Weld, let us know.
