2025 Wrapped: A snapshot of the year from Weld's perspective

We are nearing the end of 2025, so it’s time to look at all the developments, innovations, and major releases throughout this year! For Weld, it has been an another eventful year in terms of new connectors, feature updates and some other major developments.

Innovating for data teams in powerful ways

This year at Weld we introduced connector updates, new connectors, features, and tools designed to empower teams and streamline data workflows. Here's how we made Weld even more customer-centric, powerful and accessible in 2025:

Big developments

CDC

We’re nearing the release of Change Data Capture (CDC), which complements batch ETL by reducing load on primary systems and improving data freshness for downstream systems. CDC is currently being tested by a limited set of customers ahead of general availability.

Weld Connect API

Another major improvement this year is the Weld Connect API: a secure, scalable, programmatic foundation for automating data workflows and powering embedded integrations. No more dealing with inconsistent APIs or manual credential handling! Weld Connect provides a production-ready REST API that gives you full programmatic control of Weld.

You can automate connections, configure ELT syncs, monitor sync behavior, and embed the entire flow directly inside your own product, without managing infrastructure or building pipelines from scratch.

New connectors

New connectors in 2025

Highlighting some of the key connectors that we introduced in 2025!

  • LaunchDarkly: Bring feature flag and experimentation data into your warehouse to analyze rollout performance, experiment outcomes, and product impact alongside the rest of your data.
  • LinkedIn Company Pages: Sync follower stats, post analytics, and audience insights directly into Weld for richer audience reporting.
  • Intercom: Capture call records via the new “Calls” data stream for improved support and engagement analytics.
  • HiBob: Consolidate core employee records, lifecycle events, and work history for HR reporting and analysis.
  • Harvest: Aggregate time entries to understand who you work with, how time is spent, revenue and cost per hour, and team performance over time, or use historical time reports to improve planning and forecasting.
  • Azure Cosmos DB: Pull documents from Microsoft’s managed NoSQL database into your warehouse for queryable analytics.
  • HighLevel: Connect GoHighLevel data for sales, CRM, and marketing automation insights in your analytics stack.

Notion and rETL for Notion

A major development this year is our Notion integrations, including rETL support!

With Weld you can sync Notion pages, metadata, and activity into your warehouse to analyze documentation usage, growth, engagement, and collaboration trends.

At the same time you can also use the rETL function to sync data from your warehouse into your Notion databases, so that you can finally stay aligned with the same centralized data that powers your analytics.

Databricks with Unity Catalog

Weld now supports Databricks as a destination, enabling teams to sync data into its unified analytics platform built on Apache Spark for powerful business intelligence, AI-driven insights, and scalable data processing.

This integration leverages Databricks' collaborative environment with Unity Catalog for improved governance, security, and fine-grained permissions, allowing efficient processing of large datasets using SQL, Python, and ML capabilities.

Setup is straightforward: create a service principal and SQL warehouse in Databricks, configure Unity Catalog permissions, then connect directly in Weld to start automating data pipelines without manual movement.

Other key features & improvements

  • BigQuery Partitioning and Clustering: With Weld you now have full support for creating and updating BigQuery tables with partitioning and clustering, improving query performance and helping reduce your costs.

More control, freedom and time-saving in your data workspace

Smarter syncs

We also placed focus on improving sync possibilities, with Weld now supporting per-table sync scheduling. This feature gives you more flexibility and control over your ELT workflows, helping you optimize for both data freshness and cost efficiency. Whether you're running hourly syncs for mission-critical dashboards or want to reduce load by syncing large tables less often, you can now tailor your sync strategy table by table.

Faster recovery

Now you can retry failed ETL syncs instantly when the fix is on your side. Previously, when a sync or table in Weld failed too many times, it was automatically locked to prevent repeated failed runs. You can now clear certain user-resolvable locks and retry a failed sync directly from the Weld UI after you’ve fixed the issue.

More freedom and interoperability

At Weld we constantly strive for an even more connected data stack to fulfill versatile customer cases. Since earlier this year you can use BigQuery as a source connection, and you can extract data from your warehouse, model it alongside other sources, and sync it into your operational tools. This unlocks more flexibility in teams already using BigQuery as their central warehouse.

Looking ahead

The pace of change in data is only accelerating, especially in the era of AI. As we look ahead, our focus is on strengthening the foundations that make reliable data possible, while continuing to expand where Weld can take your data.

🌐 Expanding our platform and API capabilities

We are continuing to invest in Weld’s API to support AI driven use cases, real time replication, and a more flexible custom connector framework through the Weld SDK. This opens up new possibilities for teams that want more control, deeper integrations, and the ability to build on top of Weld as part of a broader data platform. Our goal is to make Weld easy to integrate, easy to extend, and easy to rely on as data stacks evolve.

🔗 More connectors and destinations across modern data platforms and lakes

Expanding our connector library remains a core focus. You can look forward to many more destinations across modern data warehouses and lakes, as we continue to strengthen support for the platforms data teams rely on today and tomorrow. This includes ongoing investment in warehouses and lakes such as Amazon Redshift, MotherDuck, OneLake, and ClickHouse, alongside community requested connectors that help teams move faster with less friction.

🛡️ Reliability and ease of use, first

In the era of AI, having reliable data infrastructure is more important than ever. Across everything we build, our commitment remains the same: delivering the best and highest quality connectors on the market. That means connectors that are simple to set up, intuitive to operate, and dependable in production, so teams can trust their data foundations and focus on building insights, products, and AI powered workflows.

What won’t change

Our commitment to listening closely, learning continuously, and building Weld around real customer needs. Thank you for being part of the journey this year. We’re excited about what’s ahead and grateful to be building it together.

See you in 2026! 🎉
